Creative Checker
Designing a tool to make checking creatives easier.
While working at Criteo, one of our recurring challenges was managing campaign specifications for a wide variety of brands. Each brand came with its own unique set of requirements—some of which differed significantly—making the manual review process both time-consuming and prone to error.

To streamline this workflow, I initiated and led the design of an internal tool aimed at automating key parts of the spec-checking process. The goal was to reduce friction for the design team and improve accuracy and efficiency across campaigns.

I collaborated closely with the software engineering team throughout development, ensuring the tool was intuitive and accessible—not just for designers, but for anyone in the company. The final product was successfully rolled out company-wide and became a key resource for simplifying creative reviews.

Feature 1: Creative Checker clearly highlighted the required placement of key elements—such as logos, slogans, and important text—to ensure they remained visible and unaffected by cropping.

Feature 2:
We included a cropping feature that allowed users to select from available dimensions for any placement type that failed, adjust dimensions directly, and zoom in and out for the perfect crop. After saving, the image is automatically updated and resubmitted into the editor.

Feature 3:
Users are able to update, toggle, and upload desktop and mobile images simultaneously in the main editor. This functionality also supports image replacement and cropping, ensuring that changes to one version do not affect the other.
